LAUNCHING OF THE BLUE COAST 95'

The Blue Coast 95 "Cartouche", the first Blue Coast Yachts, designed by naval architect Jean-Jacques Coste and built by H2X shipyard, was launched last Wednesday, September 29 at La Ciotat, after a record construction time of 14 months!!!

To celebrate this magical moment, the sun and the weather were to rendezvous in south of France. The Blue Coast 95’ has hit the water in the early afternoon in the port of La Ciotat after a maneuver performed by the master hands of Semidep and H2X construction team under the direction Sebastien Grall.

The owners, the shipyard team and designer Jean-Jacques Coste, initiator of the Blue Coast Yachts range and Director of Coste Design & Partners, were all very proud of the success of the technological and human challenge created by this high-quality construction completed in only 14 months.

The architect and builder happy to see their creation in the water were pleased to see "Cartouche" floating as they had anticipated: "The boat is perfectly within his lines and trim, this is very satisfying, because we haven’t renounced to any element of comfort and Cartouche is fitted with the latest in equipment.»

Construction, fully managed by H2X started in August 2009. "The first review of this project is very satisfying." Confided Maurice Klein, General Manager of the shipyard, "Through the project management and implementation of innovative processes, the quality of construction is at the highest standard and we can build a sister ship even faster if we are asked. »

Designed exclusively for private use, the Blue Coast 95’ is a pure one-off which enjoys the unmatched experience of Coste Design and H2X in such projects. This triple-decker yacht, sloop rigged is also one of the largest catamarans in the world with 28.80 m length and 12 m wide! Its elegant and contemporary design created by Jean-Jacques Coste is highlighted by a gray metallic harmony between the hulls, deck, mast and boom. The finely crafted windows bring light to the impressive volume.
With a sun bathing area with hot tub on the fly bridge the BC 95’ also features a rear hydraulic platform to facilitate the launching of the tender and to enjoy swimming safely.

The main lounge with furniture painted in shades of gray, black and white, reflects the willingness of the owners to have modern and refined decoration. A professional and convivial kitchen and a navigation station annex to the master cabin are also located on the main deck. This luxurious and bright cabin provides unprecedented living space and has its private bathroom in the hull. Three other double cabins with shower will welcome guests with the highest comfort.

On a navigation point of view, with its long and narrow hulls, the BC 95’ is distinguished by softness in all navigation conditions and offers maximum stability. All of the maneuvers is hydraulic and allows unparalleled ease of operation. "Cartouche" is one of the largest catamarans in the world to be equipped with a furling boom beautifully realized, as rotary wing mast, in carbon fiber by Petitjean Composites.Like all Blue Coast Yachts, the simple and efficient sail plan consists of a self-tacking Solent, a Gennaker and an innovative and very powerful mainsail of 235m², all made in 3DL by North Sails.

On a building side, the Blue Coast 95’ benefits from a “sandwich” structure composed of glass and carbon fibers, PVC foam, and epoxy resin made in female molds. The composite parts (the largest is measuring 28 meters long!)  are performed via vacuum infusion process in one-shot.   The H2X shipyard being expert and pioneer in the processes associated with this technology, resulting in the highest quality parts, produced in record time. Last May, the shipyard, for example, made the superstructure with a surface of 198 m² was infused in one shot!
